Do we work on mobile/manufactured homes?
- Yes, but only gas or electric equipment.
Do we work on oil equipment?
- We work on #2 Fuel Oil equipment, but we do not work on Waste Oil equipment. We also do not work on oil equipment in mobile homes.

How often should I be changing my filter?
- If you have a 1” thick filter (any dimensions) it should be changed AT LEAST quarterly, if you have pets even more often. If you have a media filter (meaning something 4” thick it should be changed AT LEAST once a year, again if you have pets more likely every 6-8 months.
How do I know what filter to buy and what does MERV mean?
- MERV rating is the efficiency rating on your filter. For 1” filters you will want to choose something less than 10, preferably between 5-8. It will be noted on the edge of the filter somewhere.
- For more information about which filter belongs in your system, you can check out our New Homeowner Guide here.
How do I know what equipment I have?
- HVAC equipment comes in all shapes and forms, usually with one style more popular than others in different regions. In Northeast Ohio, forced air systems tend to be put in New Build homes, with century homes still sometimes featuring hot water boilers (or even steam!). For more information about how to identify the system in your home, you can check out our New Homeowner Guide here.
What is the average life expectancy of my equipment?
- Gas & Oil furnaces or Gas & Oil Boilers: about 20 years if properly maintained
- AC: about 15 years if properly maintained
- Heat Pump: about 12-15 years if properly maintained
Why is it important to get equipment maintained regularly?
- Maintenancing your equipment is as important as maintenancing your car: we want to make sure system isn’t building up with dust and grime, that it is operating efficiently, and that we catch minor issues before they become big ones. Failing motors, belts and fans, not only effect operation because that part is not doing it’s job, but they can potentially damage other parts creating a larger repair.
What is the average replacement cost of equipment?
- Replacement costs vary drastically between equipment, brands, and capacities. Replacement HVAC equipment can range from $5,000-$50,000.
